Today my niece came to me and
asked “How many users use Facebook in our continent - Asia?”. I replied to her
after gathering information through different sources. Then she kept on asking different
queries related to FB users. After satisfying her completely, I decided to
share some interesting information regarding FB users in Asia with you – My audience!
The social media FB has now
become part of our lives. We use it daily whether we are at home or in a café,
or in a plane!. Around the globe, almost in every country, Facebook is now
being used as a tool to improve your business and social media marketing
strategies. In a recent survey conducted by socialbakers, Pakistan has been
ranked 8th in Asia with 6412960 users and 26th in the world which is pretty
good! Despite of the fact that, Pakistan has still not equipped with the latest
infrastructure well.
But the statistics show that
the energetic youth of Pakistan contributes with a total of 3206480 users and
hence categorized as the largest age group which is currently between 18 – 24 years.
While the users in the age group of 25 – 34 years share the rest.

If we look at the male and
female users, it is also interesting to see that there are 69% male users whereas
31% female users out of 6412960 users. This trend is good and it shows me that
youth of Pakistan is adapting to the modern communication ways rapidly not just
to chit chat with each other, but to ensure their effective presence in the
world.

Finally, I conclude my article
by articulating the fact that Facebook penetration in the country is about 3.62%
compared to the country's population which is around 180 million and 34.66% relative
to number of Internet users which are on the rise at an accelerated pace,
crossing the 24 million benchmark as a greater percentage accessing the
internet via mobile phones.
