Today,
Microsoft finally unveiled its tablet line up tagged ‘Surface Tablets ’at a
secret location in Los Angeles, to compete with its rival – Apple. The tablets
have been introduced in two models, one with Intel-based processor that will
run the full version of Windows 8 including the Windows 7 portion, and the
other with an ARM-based processor that will run Windows RT - the Metro-only
version of Windows 8.
The
tablets look much like an iPad due to similarities in the size, shape and
weight. They will also contain a cover similar to iPad's Smart Case, but the
cover will include a touch keyboard when folded out.
Rumors
are circulating around, that the Surface Tablets will be available by the fall
of this year. But it’s too early to say anything regarding shipment date and
pricing structure until Microsoft declares it!
