Today, Microsoft finally unveiled its tablet line up tagged ‘Surface Tablets ’at a secret location in Los Angeles, to compete with its rival – Apple. The tablets have been introduced in two models, one with Intel-based processor that will run the full version of Windows 8 including the Windows 7 portion, and the other with an ARM-based processor that will run Windows RT - the Metro-only version of Windows 8.

Recently XDA-Developers have developed an app similar to SetCPU app (that is used to control android device CPU) for the quad-core HTC One X. This app dubbed CoreControl is created by Meltus- one of the key developers of XDA-Developers Team.
The app lets you to control the number of active cores at a time in HTC One X and hence provide the battery life of the phone you desire. Root access is a pre-requisite and the app will be simply closed forcibly on an un-rooted device.
